PTFI faced a problem – high bottled water use on their jobsite was costly (millions spent) and environmentally damaging (fuel, landfill). Although safe tap water was available, it was not preferred due to perceived low quality.
To address this, PTFI partnered with Maverick on the #SaPuAir campaign. The campaign aimed to promote the processed tap water as a safe, hygienic, and economical option, encouraging people on the jobsite to switch.
Maverick did surveys, FGDs, internal KOLs engagement, and managed offline and online activations. The employees’ awareness regarding the safety of the jobsite’s processed water increased, and the monthly plastic bottled water consumption was significantly decreased by 70% in less than a year. For this initiative, PTFI won PRCA SEA Awards on the Employee Engagement category in 2020.
